The Cancer Network is one of the four networks within the Strategic Clinical Networks.
Although cancer mortality has reduced significantly over this time, incidence is increasing. The national ambition is to improve awareness and early diagnosis of cancer.
Based on over a decade of successful service improvement, professionals from a wide range of specialisms, operate in an advisory capacity and use their expert knowledge and experience to review cancer services.
Primary objectives for the cancer network are:
- To save lives through improved awareness and early diagnosis.
- To provide better outcomes for cancer patients by improving their quality of life and experience of care.
- To reduce variation in aspects of service delivery and quality of care.
